  7. 1) MS Office 98 Updaters -

  9. If you're using MacOS 9 or above, please install the "Office 98 Update for Mac OS 9" publshed by Microsoft.

  11. If you're using MacOS 8.5 or above, please install the "Combined Updater for Office 98" published by Microsoft.

  13. If you're using MacOS 8.1 or below, please install the "Unwanted Data Patch", also published by Microsoft.

  20. 2) MacOS Updaters -
  21.  
  22. MacOS 9 users are highly recommended to upgrade to MacOS 9.0.4 (or above). A free updater is available from Apple's official web site.

  24. MacOS 8.5 users are highly recommended to upgrade to MacOS 8.6. A free updater is available from Apple's official web site.

  27. 3) Excel 98 Quit Delay -

  29. It has been reported that, some Excel 98 takes a long time to quit.  (Up to 10 to 25 seconds.)

  31. A fix to this problem is to run the "Excel Quit Delay Fix.doc" file which comes with EPT. To use it :
  32.   - Quit Excel
  33.   - Double-click the file "Excel Quit Delay Fix.doc"

  35. The file is a Word 98/2001 document with VBA macro. I discovered completely no way to fix the problem from within Excel 98. Therefore, I prepared the solution in Word.

  37. (The word document will close automatically immediately after the program code has been executed. It takes only about 1 or 2 seconds.)

  40. 3) EPT for Mac, future development... -
  41.  
  42. EPT has been "cross-platform compatible" since its very first release in December 1996.
  43.  
  44. EPT was in a "dual-platform compatible" form in version 1. That is, one version for both platforms.

  46. Because of the growing complexity of EPT, two different versions of EPT 3 and four different versions of EPT 2 have been developed.

  48. The development of EPT for Mac, and for PC, will continue in the foreseeable future.  (I'm now only 25.) Mac users can enjoy the same powerful EPT add-ins as PC users do.

  50. ... The day when you see EPT for Mac disappears on Earth, EPT for PC disappears on that same day.  --  This summarizes my development plan.
